Metstrade: New Air Conditioning Technology Plus Battery and Roof Solutions
From November 15 to 17, the global systems partner to the mobility sector will be exhibiting its latest heating, air conditioning, cooling, battery, roof and sun protection solutions together with Indel Webasto Marine at Metstrade in Amsterdam.
Gilching, November 15, 2023 – Under the motto “Feel at home on the seven seas”, Webasto will be exhibiting the latest additions to its broad product range for the boating sector at Metstrade in Amsterdam (Hall 12, Booth 510) from November 15 to 17. Highlights at the trade fair include a lightweight and robust roof solution for boats up to 24 meters in length, a belt-driven air conditioning unit for smaller boats and new high-voltage heaters and traction batteries. Compressor refrigerators from Indel Webasto Marine round off the mobility specialist’s appearance at the trade fair.
Roof solution for fast motorboats
One of this year’s highlights at Webasto’s booth is the new high-end 50-Series sliding roof. The Webasto 50-Series is made of robust aluminum and dark gray tinted, tempered safety glass with a thickness of 8 millimeters. The lightweight design is powered by a 12-volt DC supply. At the touch of a button, the sliding roof offers an open cruising experience for the wheelhouse of leisure boats. It is light, quiet and extremely robust, making it suitable for use on fast motorboats too. For its new roof solution Webasto uses dark gray standard glass, which shields 89 percent of solar heat and blocks UV rays completely. The clever design features no visible screws, thereby ensuring an elegant appearance. With a second glass pane permanently installed behind the sliding roof, the 50-series sliding roof can be optionally extended to form a panoramic roof. The roof solution is watertight around the main frame, which means that the occupants and interior always remain dry when navigating the high seas. The triple-black finish lends the roof a modern, high-quality look that highlights the boat’s aesthetics. During development, Webasto also placed great emphasis on ease of installation, allowing boat builders to fit the solution in just a few steps.
Simple no-generator air conditioning solution for cruising
Webasto Breeze is the new belt-driven air conditioning system that ensures year-round feel-good temperatures while cruising on smaller motorboats. The compact air conditioning solution is powered by 12-volts DC, while the unit’s compressor is driven by the boat’s engine. The system therefore does not require a generator. Webasto Breeze is designed for operation on rescue or tender boats. The compact design of the Webasto Breeze not only makes it a cost-efficient and space-saving universal solution for smaller motorboats, it is also easy to operate with just a single on/off button and three blower stages.
New components for e-boats
Webasto, as a global partner to the electromobility sector, will also be exhibiting its new 10- and 12-kilowatt High-Voltage Heaters (HVH) to the trade fair’s visitors. The HVHs convert electrical energy into heat at an efficiency of almost 100 percent and are fitted with comprehensive safety mechanisms to prevent overheating. Moreover, Webasto is also presenting the successor to its standard battery system as a power supply solution on the high seas. The Webasto NextGen Battery delivers higher energy density in a smaller volume and provides boat builders with a reliable power storage system for electrically powered boats.
New refrigerator solutions from Indel Webasto Marine
Indel Webasto Marine is adding two new drawer refrigerators to its product range with the Drawer 85 and 130 Inox Clean Touch units, which combine elegant design, efficiency, reliability and robustness. The manufacturer relies on the new Secop BDN45F Nano compressor for these models. Its compact dimensions and high cooling efficiency enable a larger interior with practical partitioning. Thanks to the Inox Clean Touch surface, smudges such as fingerprints on the surface can be prevented, making appliance care easier. Inside, both models feature an easy-to-operate electronic thermostat with five integrated LED lights. The robust drawer mechanism offers convenient access to chilled food and drinks. In combination with the large freezer compartment, the new models are the ideal companion for extended trips on the high seas.
